Made within 14 days for the HoloJam #4 game jam!

Inspired by Fauna's TTRPG streams, Paper Mario, and Rabbit & Steel

*Beware of volume. I turned it down, but there's no option to change it in-game yet.

*Also completely unintentional, but the game seems to work well on mobile too

Theme: Outcome

Summary:

A mysterious force has awakened inside Ceres Fauna's TTRPG board and has shrunken her into the world of its creation.  Fauna must now attempt to escape and dispel the curse put on her in the world she created. Will Fauna be able to change the outcome of her tabletop fate? (Unfortunately, she is stuck in this version, since there's no final boss, which is the win condition T_T)

Gameplay:

  • Pick between 2 different classes to go through the dungeon, each with its own unique abilities and playstyle.
  • Abilities and events are bound to dice faces, where 1 out of 6 options are randomly selected.
  • Rooms with a [?] can either be an Item, Blessing, or Curse room
    • Item Room: Obtain an item from a random selection of 3 items
    • Blessing Room: Gain a boon, which can either heal you, give permanent buffs, or upgrade your abilities
    • Curse Room: Gain a bane, which can either damage you, give permanent debuffs, or degrade your abilities
  • Enemy encounters:
    • The player always starts first and has the option to either use an ability, use an item, or run.
      • Ability: The player rolls from their current ability pool and takes the action it lands on.
        • The player may reroll this depending on their number of rerolls remaining.
      • Item: The player can use an item from their inventory. Hovering over the item displays its description
      • Run: Rapidly click the mouse button to run from the enemy, skipping the fight. While this does end the fight early, the player will miss out on any potential items the enemy may drop on defeat.
  • DEF stat: If the player or enemy has any DEF when attacked, the attack will be reduced by the amount of DEF they have.
